Role Description:

The Water Services Worker 04 serves as a crewmember, and under the guidance of a journeyman worker, performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled basic assignments in support of the operation and maintenance of the water supply system under the overall guidance of the Foreman.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Performs basic manual, recurring and semiskilled tasks.
  • Assists with preventative maintenance, repair and replacement of mains and service lines.
  • Cleans and restores work sites after jobs are completed to ensure that worksites are left in a neat, safe and acceptable condition.
  • Assists in the setup of traffic control, directing traffic, arranging safety blocks and safety signals, erecting barricades and warning devices.
  • Complies with applicable safety rules and regulations.
  • Operates Authority vehicles as an essential function of the position. Maintains vehicles and/or equipment in a clean and orderly manner. Reports any operating deficiencies to the appropriate Authority personnel. Operates tools, equipment and non CDL vehicles to accomplish work.
  • Gathers information for use in daily work reports.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned at the discretion of the immediate Foreman.

Required Experience: None Minimum Education Requirements: High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate Required Skills: Communication Knowledge of processes and methods used in performing the work, operating equipment, vehicles, and tools needed to perform Required Licenses & Certifications: Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operating License Required Languages: English Physical Requirements: Able to work shift work, holidays, and weekends, on-call during scheduled hours, overtime during emergencies Able to work in extreme cold/hot temperatures (indoors/outdoors) Able to work in water-filled and muddy ditches Able to work in noisy environment Able to lift 50 pounds
