HDR's Little Rock team is growing and we are looking for a talented engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit that would enjoy the process of building up our practice in Arkansas. In addition to this, the Water/Wastewater Engineer will perform complex assignments exercising judgment in the evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Creating detailed designs of water/wastewater treatment, pump stations, and collection/distribution systems, including plans and specifications, site layouts, and size and select equipment.
  • Preparing cost opinions and writing technical documents.
  • Performing life cycle cost analyses and process calculations and performing hydraulic analysis calculations to develop hydraulic profiles.
  • Preparing process and civil design drawings and coordinating with BIM/CADD technicians for construction plans production.
  • Supporting construction phase implementation of infrastructure improvements by providing engineering services and serving as owner's representative.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
  • At least 4 years of applicable experience
  • Experience designing and creating plans and specifications with some prior experience in water and wastewater projects
  • PE or ability to obtain within a year of hire; those hired without their PE will have an EIT title
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to the completion of a task
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture is a must


Preferred Qualifications

  • MSCE
  • Preference is given to local candidates
