Job Description
\n
Welder/Millwrights are responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining industrial machinery, equipment, and systems. They also help carry out tasks as directed by the Mechanical Superintendent or Mechanical Foreman
\n
Essential Functions:
\n
    \n
  • Install, service, and maintain industrial machinery, equipment, and systems
  • \n
  • Install piping and fluid handling systems
  • \n
  • Install, modify, and service conveyor systems
  • \n
  • Build, install, and modify duct systems
  • \n
  • Metal fabrication duties, including cutting, grinding,
  • \n
  • Demolition of equipment, machinery, or structures
  • \n
  • Steel erection or modification, including mezzanines, platforms, supports,
  • \n
  • Preform quality weld in both shop and field conditions.
  • \n
  • Have working knowledge pipe prep fit up and layout.
  • \n
  • Must supply personal tools.
  • \n
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • \n
  • Must be able to pass all required safety training required by state and federal agencies.
  • \n
  • Overtime, and weekend work is regularly available.
  • \n

  • Cutting tools and techniques, including oxy-acetylene torch, plasma, jet-arc,

  • Experienced in machine/equipment service and repair (i.e., bearings, drives, shafts, )
  • \n
  • Proficient in equipment alignment and leveling techniques
  • \n
  • Equipment operation, including scissors and boom lifts; all-terrain, shooting boom, and industrial forklifts
  • \n
  • Ability to work at heights from ladders or work platforms
  • \n
  • Pipe bending, fitting, threading, and welding
  • \n
  • Understanding of different materials (S.S., C.S., Al, etc.)
  • \n
  • Familiarity with ductwork systems and typical installation techniques
  • \n
  • Operation of service trucks and non-CDL trucks
  • \n
  • Complete tasks independently with supervisory oversight
  • \n
  • Comprehends and practices safe working practices according to Company policy and customer require
  • \n

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
\n
While performing the duties of this position, the Welder/Millwright is required to perform the following actions throughout an 8-12 hour period of work for a 5-7 day work week.
\n
    \n
  • Be available for overtime and emergency call-ins
  • \n
  • Job will require working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year (heat, cold, rain, snow).
  • \n
  • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns)
  • \n
  • Job will require employees to have personal tools with them at all
  • \n
  • Work from all types of ladders (step ladders up to 14',\"A\" frame ladders and all sizes of extension ladders and carry and relocate up to 12' step ladders by oneself).
  • \n
  • Employee's personal weight and personal tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladder (Class1-250 , Class 1A- 300 lbs.).
  • \n
  • Perform work at various heights {up to 90') from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks of other areas.
  • \n
  • Work in restricted areas (manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, tanks, drums, )
  • \n
  • Wear personal protective equipment (steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, respirator), as required
  • \n
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and
  • \n
  • Able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime as required and night shift
  • \n
\n
Travel:
\n
    \n
  • Occasional overnight travel
  • \n
  • Within a 75 mile radius from office with radius pay, daily round trip.
  • \n
  • Education and Experience:
  • \n
  • Highschool diploma or GED
  • \n
  • Proven experience working in the mechanical industrial field
  • \n
  • Individual has 5-10 years' experience and or has a knowledge base equal to a person of 5-10 years
  • \n
