The Workforce Development Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of workforce development program which includes employment training, work-readiness activities, counseling, and job placement for individuals with significant and multiple barriers to employment and a recent violent injury. The program will increase employability, enhance client motivation, and improve life skills. Program activities will be performed in a hospital setting under the supervision of the Trauma Outreach Manager.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Bachelors Degree : in Human Services or related field (Preferred)
Masters Degree : in Human Services or related field (Preferred)

Experience
2 Years experience in a related role including case management, training, or counseling in a social service or healthcare setting (Required)
General Experience and knowledge of workforce development, and employment services for individual experiencing poverty and/or chronic unemployment/under-employment (Required)
General Experience working with individuals who experience the effects of poverty and have been part of public systems, including criminal justice and foster care (Required)
General Experience and demonstrated track record of building rapport with, providing motivation to, and supporting clients in achieving goals, including the development of individual action plans (Required)
General Experience facilitating individual and group training sessions (Preferred)
