We are currently seeking a Grant Writer who will advance the institution's proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.
JOB SUMMARY
The Grant Writer plays an active role in implementing an integrated grants development strategy, with particular focus on writing grant proposals and other materials for securing funding from Federal, State and regional agencies in support of Houston Community College.
Responsibilities include: writing proposals, reports, briefings, letters and agency funding profiles and drafting materials to comply with reporting requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Utilize electronic media to conduct basic research in support of grant proposals.
Analyze written proposals for regulatory compliance.
Work with principle investigators/project directors to establish proposal budgets.
Work with restricted grants accounting office to establish funded grant budgets.
Organize, categorize and maintain both hard copy and electronic files on HCC grants.
Monitor multiple web sites to identify appropriate grant opportunities.
Update the HCC grant opportunities section of the Resource Development web page on a weekly basis.
Provide technical assistance to Project Directors as necessary.
Actively participate in at least one professional organization in the field.
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a closely-related field required
- 5 years experience in writing, editing and proofreading grants to regional, state and federal governmental agencies and the private sector required
