MedStar Health is looking for a PRN X-ray Technologist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital !

As a PRN X-ray Technologist, you will perform a full range of diagnostic radiographic examinations to include routine, emergency room trauma, operating room procedures, lithotripsy, portables, and fluoroscopy. These functions are carried out in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.

Primary Duties:

  • Performs full range of diagnostic radiographic examinations in the department and ancillary areas.


  • Ensures that radiation safety precautions are taken when necessary. Provides basic information to patients and/or families concerning procedures to be performed.


  • Assists the Radiologists in performing special radiological examinations. Assists with the upkeep of x-ray equipment, adheres to all related safety requirements and reports need for equipment repairs.


  • Operates hospital information and computer programs including digital radiography systems. Transport patients to the Emergency Room when necessary.


  • Participates in orientation and other opportunities for learning as delegated for the department, other Hospital staff and students. Exemplifies Guest and Staff Relations in all activities .


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.


  • Skills in operating stationery and mobile X-ray equipment and in instructing others in proper use.


  • 1-2 years Hospital based experience preferred.


  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) Radiography Certification within 1 year.
