Yard Spotter (1st Shift)

The Yard Spotter responds to daily needs of moving and staging around the plant 48' - 53' trailers both flatbed and van types. The incumbent is responsible for transporting trailers on public roadways to external warehouse sites. The incumbent will closely work with shipping / receiving personnel to ensure a quick turn-around of all relevant transportation movements. Serves as a fork truck operator when not driving.

• Locate and move various trailers in Hendrickson's lots and at external sites
• Provide organization/coordination for both the drop lot and warehouse activities
• Conducts searches in order to locate misclassified inventory and resolve discrepancy as it pertains to yard spotting activities
• Performs daily audits and inspections of trucks and trailers
• Execute the KANBAN process of inventory control
• Mainain records / logs of movements
• Ensure administratiion of preventive maintenance matters
• Experience driving a fork truck preferably stand-up and sit-down types
• Obtain and hold a Class 'A' CDL as well as a clean driving record
• Proven ability to work on an unsupervised, self-directed basis
• Ability to perform highly accurate work within time constraints
• Proven skill at keeping organized, prioritizing tasks, and adhering to a schedule
• Excellent communication skills; analytical and problem-solving skills are required
• Ability to operate wrapping / strapping machines
• Experience with MS Word and Excel; familiarity of AS400 system preferred
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and pass an OSHA approved certification program
• Ability to lift items waist high weigh up to 50 lbs.
