Summary

The Federal Reserve Board (Board) provides students opportunities for career success. The Board's Internship program is designed to provide valuable work experience for graduate students considering careers including, but not limited to, economics, finance and accounting, information systems, and data analysis. The Board believes that by combining academic endeavors with project-related work experience, qualified and capable college students can gain the practical knowledge need in a competitive global job market. Internships are paid positions with salaries commensurate with credit hours; internships may be in-person, remote or hybrid, depending on the needs of the team. Employment in the Board's internship program is granted to U.S. citizens. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at an accredited university and returning to continue studies after the internship. Interns receive a syllabus or research project plan outlining their projects and goals for the internship. Interns are assigned a supervisor or mentor to guide them through their internship, and regular check-in meetings with their manager to manage performance expectations and assist with learning goals. Interns have access to a wide range of training programs and events for professional development purposes.

Position Requirements

About the Role

The Client Engagement and Strategy team has a highly visible and strategic role within the Supervision and Regulation function that engages and supports business stakeholders in strategic planning, portfolio management, and client engagement. As part of this position, the intern will gain valuable insight into S&R's strategic planning process, business relationship management, and portfolio management disciplines. The position is with a team that has a high degree of exposure to the Supervision function and S&R division.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with senior leadership to understand strategic business needs and take those needs to clearly identify strategic alignment, desired outcomes, and potential resource and budget needs.
  • Supporting the teams' work with business portfolios consisting of senior leaders across the Division and System
  • Assist with other work including communications, coordinating meeting logistics, developing agendas, supporting and documenting business decisions.


Suggested Majors: Candidate must be pursuing a graduate level degree in Business Administration (MBA candidate), Public Policy (MPP candidate), Government, or another related field of study.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Strong business analysis and communications skills
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Experience working with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience developing executive-level presentations
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking abilities


Additional Notes:

  • Anticipated Work Ho urs: 10-20 min hours/week during school year, 40 hours/week during summer
  • Anticipated Start Date: January 2025
  • Anticipated Work Environment: This position can be completed fully remote or in a hybrid capacity in Washington, DC.
  • U.S Citizenship is required for all Board internships and applicants must be current students, graduating from their progra m Fall 2025 or later.
