Job Summary:
The Youth Development Professionals role is providing daily programs, services and activities for Program Site participants, which are consistent with the organization's youth development mission and goals. Youth development Professionals are primarily, but not exclusively, responsible for youth supervision, developing positive, productive relationships with students and overseeing the delivery of a broad range of programs such as Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, Sports-Fitness & Recreation and Healthy Lifestyles. This person will work closely with the Site Coordinator to plan & implement designated programs and activities that support Youth Development Outcomes for youth. The person will maintain program goals that ensure the health and safety of participants.

Must be able to pass a background and fingerprint check. (There will be an associated fingerprint fee pending offer of employment)

Days: Monday - Friday, [Some Saturdays, as assigned]
Summer Hours: 7:30am-1:30pm or 1:00pm-7:00pm
School Year Hours: 2:30pm - 6:30pm
Compensation: $15.00 per hour, paid monthly.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of positive youth development:
- Promotes and stimulate program participation;
- Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
- Focus on maintaining a safe, positive atmosphere for all youth.
- Exhibits a warm, concerned attitude toward youth that uses a positive approach in dealing with individuals as well as groups of children.
- Effectively plan and lead programs, services and a variety of activities for members.
- Participates as an active, positive team member with supervisor, other staff, volunteers and members at all times by communicating effectively.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience in youth development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate well with children and parents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Classroom Management Skills.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to adjust to new job responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- At least 18 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or higher depending on position
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to maneuver within work site 4-5 hours per day
- Must be able to comfortably move and manipulate up to 25 lbs of weight up to 4 hours per day
