YPIA Marketing Specialist VISTA

Young People In Action (YPIA) is a national nonprofit headquartered in Houston, Texas that provides individualized and group services for under-served youth designed to uncover and develop their academic, creative, and leadership potential. As our VISTA, you will support this project by establishing a strategy to spread the word about YPIA's events and programming to prospective attendees, recruits and staff in efforts to eliminate poverty within the community. The Marketing Specialist will help build capacity by developing a marketing plan for program expansion, create and develop promotional marketing materials for targeted audiences, set up an outreach system targeted towards volunteer recruitment through social media marketing, and develop policies for tracking marketed content across YPIA's social platforms. Our ideal candidate is passionate about serving the community through direct service, knowledge of social media trends and media outlets to increase the visibility of the organization, have experience working on a team, have experience conducting market research for SEO, have excellent organizational skills and analytical skills, and strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and encourage others.

Member Duties : As a VISTA member at Young People In Action (YPIA), you will build and develop a marketing and promotions plan to maximize recruitment/attendance for YPIA's events and programming that highlight the organization's mission towards breaking the cycle of poverty. Major functions will include identifying YPIA's current targeted audience, identify the current marketing strategy's strengths and weaknesses, set up an outreach system for volunteer recruitment, design marketing materials for the social content calendar and set up policy for tracking successful targeted materials on multiple platforms.
