An employer is seeking an Accounting Manager to support their internal corporate financial team at their headquarters in Belcamp, MD. Below is a brief summary of day to day responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

* Assist in monthly closing process and oversee and review journal entries and adjustments for the accounting team.

* Assist in ad hoc accounting, financial, and board analyses and reporting as requested

* Assist with special projects to drive process improvement and transformation of the finance function

* Assist with integration and system migration of acquired business as needed

* Interpret and implement new accounting guidance

* Perform and/or review selected technical accounting month/quarterly/yearend procedures

* Conduct annual impairment testing on Goodwill and indefinite life intangibles

* Draft accounting policies and procedures

* Provide leadership guidance and sponsorship to ad hoc and recurring Controllership improvement projects including software implementation, efficiency initiatives and process improvements

Required Skills & Experience

Approximately 5-8 years previous work experience in a public accounting role.

Financial closing, consolidations, reporting and planning experience

Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and SOX requirements

Government contracting experience

Strong US GAAP accounting knowledge with experience interpreting and implementing technical accounting guidance to non-routine transactions

Strong working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint

CPA Certified
