Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and organization of the alumni relations program (both in person and virtual) in the College of Nursing. The alumni leader will develop and implement programming that connects current students and alumni to each other and to the college, and institution to advance Florida State and specifically the College of Nursing. Builds upon the College of Nursing advancement infrastructure to develop and support alumni relations and engagement.
  • Strategically create, implement, and manage College of Nursing (CON) programming to engage current students, alumni, parents, friends, councils/boards to advance CON and FSU's priorities resulting in increased alumni involvement with the College and FSU. Responsibility for determining and overseeing event arrangements, such as venue, reservations, catering, photography, videography, parking, and transportation permits, equipment, entertainment, signage, seating charts, name tags and other special request that enhance the alumni experience and interaction with the CON. Build, implement, and evolve an alumni engagement model of reaching CON graduates where they are located professionally within the state of Florida especially. Leverage key/signature FSU Alumni Association events where appropriate to advance CON brand and recognition. Develop in-person and virtual engagement strategies; work collaboratively with advancement colleagues to support programming and translate engagement into giving. Work closely with Director of Development to evaluate goals and develop strategies to meet those goals and involve the Dean, Faculty, Vice President of UA and Associate VP of UA, in programming/engagement where appropriate. Establishes and maintain relationships with external audiences and constituencies.
  • Develop, implement, and grow a student engagement strategy that connect students to alumni locally, within the state and beyond. Work collaboratively with the Career Development Specialist position and the Career Center on FSU College of Nursing employment, internship, and externship Events and alumni connections to ensure a meaningful experience for both student and alumni participants.
  • Elevate and amplify alumni success stories and CON branding to Division of University Advancement communications; ensure CON alumni highlights and alumni points of pride are shared and articulated consistently to showcase the value of a degree from FSU CON. Write and edit communication to alumni, students, parents and friend where appropriate and leverage DUA Comms where appropriate.
  • Cultivate and grow best practice in College of Nursing alumni engagement data management; evaluate current outreach, programs and engagement using surveys and other means to inform decision making and strategy; Responsible for maintaining advancement data including post-commencement and post-engagement data strategy; Provide reporting as needed on such activities to Dean, Vice President of Advancement, or Associate Vice President of Advancement, Alumni Engagement.
  • Serve as college liaison to Alumni Campus Partners; leverage existing programming as appropriate including Women for FSU, Alumni Networks and Seminole Clubs; create meaningful opportunities with partnerships and collaborations across campus to promote the College of Nursing.
  • Other duties as assigned; May require travels to events and programs both on campus and off campus representing the College of Nursing to alumni, friends, students, parents, and community partners.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in a related field; or a high school diploma/equivalent and and eight years of experience in a related field. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
  • Valid FL or GA driver's license or the ability to obtain.
