Amazon.com is looking for a talented, driven and experienced Vendor Manager to join the Wireless team. This Vendor Manager will work on Car Electronics and Navigation sub categories and be responsible for identifying potential brand and product business opportunities, building direct relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing vendor setup and new item setup processes, setting prices, developing collaborative marketing and promotions, and driving sales and margin improvements. The candidate should have experience in building strong relationships, driving significant top and bottom line results, and be comfortable managing multiple responsibilities and within a fast-paced environment. They must have the leadership presence and communication skills to represent Amazon at all executive levels of these organizations. The candidate must also possess strong analytical acumen and be comfortable drawing metric-based conclusions by managing an extensive amount of data. This person needs to have a deep curiosity about how things work, and a passion for creating a world class shopping experience for our customers.

The right candidate stays on top of industry and competitive trends, and is able to both create and drive strategy with extensive ambiguity, while also executing on a tactical level to drive selection, sales, and margin growth. This individual will be responsible for leading our credibility and selection strategies, to improve our customer experience and education. In addition, the Vendor Manager must be an effective leader and communicator in working with and leading cross-functional teams within Amazon such as in-stock management, site merchandising, central teams, marketing, PR, finance, operations, and retail systems.

The ideal candidate has strong business judgment with a track record of successful negotiations and relationship management. Proven analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills are musts. The Vendor Manager is an effective leader and communicator, and a seasoned problem-solver.

This role provides a key opportunity for those looking to round-out general management skillsets. It is highly cross-functional and needs influencing abilities while collaborating within and outside Amazon.

Key job responsibilities

Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets by executing annual and ongoing vendor negotiations.

• Have a thorough understanding of the industry, business trends, events, and continually monitor both industry and competitor developments.

• Maximize Amazon's business and financial profitability through selection optimization and expansion opportunities.

• Have an understanding of customer needs and use that knowledge to advocate for, and drive delivery of, improvements that provide Amazon customers with an unparalleled shopping experience.

• Build vendor/brand relationships - be the primary point of contact for vendor selection on-boarding, escalations, and negotiations.

• Coordinate across cross-functional teams and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, all while meeting tight deadlines.

• Have a complete understanding (inclusive of the strategic context) of internal and external variables that impact your business. This includes owning forecasting, analyzing, understanding, and reporting on the business.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 1+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience

- Bachelor's degree

- Experience using Excel and other business analytic tools

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with software and editing tools (including HTML, Excel and SQL)

- Experience in online retail

- Experience using analytical specific tools such as Google Analytics, SQL or HTML

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $103,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
