Two Positions available - Part-Time and Full-Time

If you are looking for a position that offers a full range of Governmental Accounting tasks with an opportunity to advance through a career ladder, come join the TSLAC team! This is an on-site position, with an opportunity to telework up to two days per week after a six-month probationary period.

• Potential to work remote 2 days per week after 6 months of successful performance.

What does the job look like?

• Collect, process, and record revenue for deposit; create and enter revenue journal vouchers.

• Process mail and other documents daily.

• Reconcile cash boxes and bill exchanger monthly.

• Reconciles recurring, routine, or complex invoices, receiving reports, and other related documents to purchase order; prepare and process payments.

• Assists with or creates and enters expenditure transfer documents.

• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies.

• Create and maintain vendor information.

• Perform Encumbrance research and maintain encumbrance data.

• May serve as the records liaison for the department.



Qualifications:

What does it take to qualify (minimum)?

For an Accountant I: Salary Range: $3,395.00 - $3,603.00

• Graduation from high school/GED with 1 year bookkeeping and /or accounting work experience

• Experience reconciling receipts, invoices, and processing payments

• Experience using a personal computer, and related office equipment.

• Experience using spreadsheets on a personal computer.

For an Accountant II: Salary Range: $3,581.00 - $3,801.00

• Graduation from high school/GED with 1 year bookkeeping and /or accounting work experience

• One year experience reconciling receipts, invoices, and processing payments

• One year experience using a personal computer and related office equipment.

• One year experience using spreadsheets on a personal computer.

For an Accountant III: Salary Range: $4,067.00- $4,362.00

• Graduation from high school/GED with 2 years bookkeeping and /or accounting work experience

• Two years experience reconciling receipts, invoices, and processing payments

• Two years experience using a personal computer and related office equipment.

• Two years experience using spreadsheets on a personal computer.

• Experience with State of Texas Uniform Statewide Accounting system (USAS) and TINS

Other things we look for (preferred)

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

• College coursework in Accounting , finance or related field.

• Experience preparing and processing payments.

• Accounting work experience reconciling and compiling deposits.

• State of Texas Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS) experience.

• State of Texas Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS) Financial experience.

• Experience with TINS

• Experience using a database accounting system.

• State experience processing Federal Funds

• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite Software.

• Experience with Records Retention

• Experience with employee training

What else do I need to know before applying?

• College transcript required if claiming college credit (at time of application)

• In-basket exercise will be given at the time of interview to determine mathematical, logistical, and proofreading ability.

• Criminal History check required of successful applicant.

SUPERVISION

Has no supervisory responsibility. Works under the direction of the Chief Accountant. Reports to the Accounting and Grants Manager.
