Summary

NJ TRANSIT will provide resources on obtaining a NJ CDL, but Qualified Applicantswho possess a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) withPassenger and Air Brake endorsements will be givenprimaryconsideration. Northern Garage Locations: Fairview, Jersey City, Paterson, North Bergen, Oradell & Wayne.

Education, Experience, Qualifications:

• Are twenty-one (21) years of age or older; able to read, write and speak the English language
• Possess three (3) years nonprovisional driving experience with a valid New Jersey Drivers License ( NOT A PROVISIONAL Drivers LICENSE ), New Jersey Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or a New York or Pennsylvania COMMERCIAL DRIVERS LICENSE with unrestricted airbrake and passenger endorsements,
• Are able to obtain a validated New Jersey Commercial Drivers License permit that has been stamped indicating the passing of written tests for passenger, airbrake and general knowledge endorsements. The expiration date on the permit must be valid for at least fourteen (14) days beyond the first day of the scheduled training program,
• Have a safe driving record that is in good standing with less than five (5) accumulated points,
• Are available to participate in the structured training program for twenty-one (21) to twenty-five (25) business days, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am--4:30 pm (perfect attendance at training is required)
• Pass our companys interview process, background checkand physical examination to qualify for amedical certification (physical exam includes a drug and alcohol screening).

• $6,000 Signing Bonus for CDL A or B License Holders (must have air brake and passenger endorsement)*
• $3,000 Signing Bonus for CDL A or B Permit Holders with air brake and passenger endorsement (also CDL A or B licenses holders that have either air brake or passenger endorsement)*
• Full benefit package including medical, prescription, dental and vision
• Pension plan plus 457 tax-deferred savings plan
• Starting pay rate of $23.79 per hour with current top pay rate of $33.99/hour
• Paid time off
• Assistance obtaining your CDL (for NJ drivers only)
