Description
The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine seeks full-time Clinical Associates to support inpatient services for both Pediatric and Adult Hospital Medicine for a renewable two-year term. The appointees will manage newborn care, complex care, ED consultation, and extended acute care needs for patients with chronic conditions. Coverage needs include night and weekend shifts. The position does not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent on qualifications.
UChicago Medicine has been at the forefront of medical care since 1927. Located in historic Hyde Park, the primary medical campus includes the Center for Care and Discovery, Comer Children's Hospital, Bernard A. Mitchell Hospital for adult inpatient care, and the Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM) totaling more than 550 beds in service and net patient care revenues over $1.4 billion. New ambulatory facilities are located in Orland Park and the South Loop, and the Ingalls Health System has recently integrated into the network. The primary appointments will be in the Department of Pediatrics although appointees will also support nocturnist coverage needs in the Department of Medicine.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified or Board eligible in General Pediatrics, 3) be Board certified or Board eligible in Internal Medicine, and 4) have completed an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program.
