Job Duties

To provide clinical social work services to mentally disordered inmates admitted to a correctional psychiatric facility in accordance with the: Department of Corrections (DOC) policies and procedures, American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Department of Behavioral Health, and Developmental Services (DBHDS) licensing regulations, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Behavioral Healthcare Organizations standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in Clinical Social Work, admissions and discharge planning, therapeutic assessment and counseling, and coordination of community resources

Knowledge of principles and practices of clinical social work

Knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic nomenclature, and mental health treatment interventions

Skills in areas of diagnosis and assessment and providing treatment interventions

Ability to communicate orally and in writing

Ability to adhere to professional ethical standards

Competencies to counsel inmates and to document treatment plans and interventions

Ability to interact professionally with families and other agencies

Ability to write well-written clinical reports

Additional Considerations

Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Clinical Social Work

Eligibility for certification as a Sex Offender Treatment Provider is preferred
