About the Division

Join the Revenue Accounting Division team as an Accounts Examiner! Work involves processing payments accurately and efficiently, disbursing taxpayer refunds and local tax revenues, collecting monies through an advanced collections program, administering various taxes and fees, and properly reconciling tax revenue funds.



Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.

• Two years analytical or problem-solving experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field.

• Experience providing analysis or problem solving in an accounting or business-related work environment.

• Experience using a personal computer in a Windows Environment and standard office software including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Substitution:

• One additional year of experience performing analytical or problem-solving work may substitute for thirty semester hours of educational requirement with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years).

In this role you will:

Knowledge of:

• General office practices and procedures.

• Standard mathematical computations including calculating tax and interest.

Skills in:

• Using a personal computer in a Windows environment, Microsoft Word, Excel, interpreting tax statutes, rules, and regulations.

• Conducting research and analysis.

• Performing mathematical calculations.

Ability to:

• Learn new concepts and apply knowledge appropriately.

• Perform complex technical analysis.

• Research and analyze data.

• Analyze, interpret, and explain agency and division policies and procedures upon request.
