Forklift Operator/Truck Loader

Job Responsibilities

Yarde Metals is looking for a 3rd shift Loader to join our Southington, CT Team . A loader is responsible for safely and properly loading finished products onto trucks for next day delivery.

• Identify material for loading by matching sales order numbers to shipping tags.
• Move material using forklift and/or sideloaders.
• Transport material from zoned areas to appropriate delivery vehicles.
• Properly load material onto trucks to avoid shifting and damage.
• Continually adjust loads as needed.
• Inspect material surface conditions before material is loaded.
• Follow all work instructions, policies, and procedures.
• Move trucks in and out of loading zones.
• Perform additional warehouse duties as instructed by supervisor.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Warehouse material handling and forklift experience strongly preferred.
• Must be able to read, understand, and carry out work instructions in English.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Must have strong critical thinking skills and ability to safely work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements of position (e.g., continuous standing and lifting 70 pounds).
