THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION

This position is in the Excepted Service under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)

Clarification from the agency

*Area 1 - All On-Board T5 NG employees within the INNG (Any Tenure).
*Area 2 - All T32 Excepted Technicians within the INNG (Any Tenure).
*Area 3 - Current AGR, Army M-Day, and Air DSG within the INNG.

Duties

  • Accomplishes position classification for Army and Air National Guard positions.
  • Provides management advisory services.
  • Reviews requests for personnel and position actions to determine impact on position classification and position management matters, referring those that are highly complex or controversial in nature to the supervisor for resolution.
  • Responsible for input of manpower and classification related transactions into the automated personnel system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

This a Career Ladder position for a GS-07/09. This advertisement is written for the GS-09 level. Your qualifications for the GS-07 and/or GS-09 will be determined by your resume and questionnaire responses. If you are hired at the GS-07 level, you will be required to remain at the GS-07 level for MINIMUM of 12 months, before you become ELIGIBLE to be non-competitively promoted to GS-09.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position with experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least 1-year equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Specialized experience is experience that prepared the applicant to perform the duties of the position. The applicant's educational-degree study program or military or civilian academic courses may substitute for some specialized experience. An applicant must demonstrate the specialized experience competencies (skills, knowledge, abilities and behaviors) to qualify for a position identified by its position grade and career level. Specialized experience may include human resources program's business competencies, familiarity with the subject matter or processes used in human resources programs associated with DoD, U.S. Army, or U.S. Air Force, or similar human resources experience.

You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-07/09. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

Additional information

This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
