Monroe Staffing is a division of Staffing 360 Solutions. We are a leading staffing firm in the U.S. in the light industrial sector.

We are currently searching for a Jr. Continuous Improvement Analyst. This direct-hire position is with a multinational manufacturer of industrial steel tubes and pipes for oil and gas drilling equipment.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of the Lean Management system, including methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Standardization, 2 Second Lean, Value Stream Mapping, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Workflow Analysis, and Six Sigma.

Experience working with Operations leadership, or Process Engineering experience in the Industrial sector. A Strong understanding of business strategy and concepts. Experience in materials management, safety, environmental, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering is preferred. Six Sigma training/certification at Green Belt or higher is also preferred. Position will require black belt certification within 18 months of starting. The Jr. Continuous Improvement Analyst will also be required to support other sites and other divisions within the company as needed, which may result in up to 10% travel within Houston, Ohio, and Oklahoma. This position reports to the Senior VPA.

Position Summary of the Jr. Continuous Improvement Analyst:

The Jr. Continuous Improvement Analyst is tasked with the facilitation and deployment of the company's Management System, with a primary focus on Lean Management. He/she will assist department leaders in the identification, prioritization, and implementation of projects that improve key business indicators. Will monitor, lead, and train team members in the company's Lean Management system, including methods such as 5S, Standardization, 2 Second Lean, Value Stream Mapping, TPM, workflow analysis, and Six Sigma. The Jr. Continuous Improvement Analyst will track overall improvement progress and report as necessary to executive management. Will also be required to support other manufacturing sites and other divisions within the company as needed, which may result in up to 10% travel. This position reports to the Senior VPA.

Key Responsibilities of the Jr. Continuous Improvement Analyst:

  • Support and facilitate all continuous improvement efforts associated with Safety, Quality, Operational Excellence, and Cost.
  • Work with Houston department managers to identify, prioritize, and execute projects that will improve key performance indicators.
  • Support the development and implementation of all levels of the hourly Skill Based Development program as it relates to Lean and Six Sigma methods.
  • Coordinate the content of Lean training materials and lead the implementation of a structured target training program for improvement teams.
  • Support cross-site and cross-functional efforts to improve shared business processes - both transactional and operational.
  • Help units to identify key performance indicators and develop tools to improve them (flow complexity, purchasing methods, and value analysis of process)
  • Hold teammates accountable for the good deliverance and sustainability of improvement results. Ensure the appropriate performance indicators are in place and teams have been provided with adequate knowledge to achieve and maintain their improvements.
  • Utilize process experts, department leaders, and steering committees as needed to generate improvement ideas and accomplish key objectives.
  • Support the effort to streamline processes across all company sites. Coordinate and report the status of improvement efforts and results to allow for easy reporting to executive leadership.
  • Support team members to deploy the appropriate Safety / Quality / Delivery / Cost / People metrics and management routines at all levels of the organization.
  • Perform Six Sigma projects and act as an expert/coach for other members seeking Six Sigma certification.
  • Assist leadership in the planning, development, coordination, support, and execution of strategic planning process, and take ownership of high-impact (immediate and long-term) improvement projects.
  • Support benchmarking and the exchange of knowledge and best practices in relation to Lean and Six Sigma methodologies with the company's steering committees and other entities.


Critical Competencies for the Jr. Continuous Improvement Analyst:

  • Experience working with Operations leadership or Process Engineering experience in the Industrial sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of business strategy and concepts.
  • Analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to be influential at all levels of an organization.
  • Past training or experience in Lean Manufacturing, materials management, Six Sigma, safety, and environmental.


Education/Training for the Jr. Continuous Improvement Analyst:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering is preferred.
  • Six Sigma training/certification at Green Belt or higher is also preferred.

Travel Requirements for the Jr. Continuous Improvement Analyst:

  • This position requires 10% travel within Houston, Ohio, and Oklahoma manufacturing locations.
