Summary

There is one position within the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Administrative Management Section (AMS) section, and provides expert administrative management and program evaluation services and guidance for RMS programs, and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and procedures.

Duties

  • Provides a wide range of liaison services and support administrative activities of a complex or specialized nature that require interpretation for many different and/or related program processes and procedures.
  • Uses initiative and resourcefulness in deviating from traditional methods or researching trends and patterns to develop new or modified methods, or propose new policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Directs activities and develops plans for project teams responsible for administrative practices, procedures, systems, and solutions for tracking, managing, auditing, and reporting on various administrative functions.
  • Performs or oversees the conduct of analytical studies involving the evaluation of RMS administrative plans, policies, practices and programs.
  • Serves as a backup to the SPRM Chief as requested, providing overall administrative guidance and management direction in support of varied programs.
  • Prepares written summaries, and conducts oral briefings and/or training for RMS leadership and staff on administrative programs, practices and changes to protocol.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience leading and coordinating personnel management and administrative program functions in all of the following administrative areas: 1.) Providing a wide range of liaison and support activities for administrative matters such as recruitment, position management, training, space management, personnel security, records management, etc.; 2.) Interpreting regulatory, policy, and procedural requirements, to provide advisory guidance related to administrative matters; 3.) Developing standard tools, reports, and procedures for administrative management and data analysis; and 4.) Conducting or overseeing analytical studies of administrative operations to develop and implement recommendations for improving efficiencies and work processes.

Additional information

Selectee(s) for this position will be required to report to their duty station office at least 1 day per pay period beginning January 2, 2024, and at their supervisor's direction to support mission and project needs. In person reporting requirements are expected to increase in July 2024.

3. Ability to apply project management and leadership principles to lead a team of administrative staff responsible for functional area assignments.

4. Knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative methods utilized in the development and management of administrative programs.

5. Ability to evaluate processes and systems.

6. Ability to communicate orally.

7. Ability to communicate in writing.
