• Although this position is not a management role, the expectation is to lead projects and potentially manage people in a few years (if all goes well/right).

• Searching for someone who can work autonomously without much guidance or direction - the hiring manager works off-site remotely.

• There is up to 40% max. estimated travel annually

Our client has created a new role in the organization to help them develop new products to drive growth across several of their products.

As the Lead Innovation Packaging Engineer & Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing the development and execution of complex single and multi-material packaging solutions projects from conception to completion, including designing, developing, and testing. You will have leadership responsibilities within the Innovation team and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that packaging meets the requirements of the customers, is cost-effective, and meets regulatory compliance. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Education/Work Experience Preferences:

• Bachelor's degree in an applicable field such as Engineering, Packaging Science, Industrial Technology, etc.

• 8 or more years of relevant experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a packaging environment

• Proven leadership experience (NOTE: This does not mean we need direct management. We are seeking Project Management, Program Management, cross-functional team leadership.)

• Must be able to work autonomously and on-site (this isn't a remote/hybrid position)

• Strong knowledge of packaging materials and manufacturing processes, thermal and mechanical analysis of structures; experience with packaging testing and analysis; excellent project management skills, knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for packaging.

• Experience packaging larger products such as appliances, furniture, etc. would be the best fit.

• Experience with NPI processes or stage-gate project management would be a plus
