Lead Technical Content Writer

Cognizant Digital Engineering practice is looking to hire a motivated and energetic Lead Content (Technical) Writer.

Cognizant Digital Practice helps clients reinvent products, experiences, and business models to create new value, differentiation, and drive revenue in the digital economy.We take an Experience centered approachwhich uses human insights to take ideas from vision to outcome and building end to end experience led solutions that enables brands to transform their customer and employee experiences using design, marketing, and commerce capabilities.

Location: Newark, CA (Remote Opportunities Available, but Pacific Time zone is preferred. Candidates will be expected to work West Coast business hours).

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Planning:
  • Attend release planning sessions and develop Content Plan in jira to track required content updates.
  • Attend daily scrums and to stay informed about dev progress.
  • Content Development:
  • Update existing content to describe new features.
  • Add new content to describe new functionality and workflows.
  • Use MadCap Flare for content creation and management, adhering to best practices for technical documentation. Maintain all files in Github.
  • Content Review:
  • Using Slack and Jira, collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders for content review and validation.
  • Incorporate feedback and make necessary adjustments to documentation. Ensure all documentation is clear, concise, and technically accurate.
  • Review all content with the hiring manager.
  • Publication:
  • Generate the pdf documents needed for each release, including but not limited to What's Coming, What's New, User Guide, HD Model Best Practices, Highlights, HD Modeling Methodology, and publish on Support Center.
  • Generate html-based help center for each release and publish on web server.
  • Publicize the release on internal channels.
  • Create WalkMe components to support the release:
  • Create new WalkMe shoutout to announce new release.
  • Create new WalkMe walk-through to point out new features.
  • Add new WalkMe smart tips as needed in the application.


  • Key Qualifications:
  • 4-8 years Proven experience in technical writing, specifically in the creation and management of technical documentation.
  • 4+ years experience using MadCap Flare.
  • Knowledge of file management in Github.
  • Knowledge of Jira and the Agile development process.
  • Experience with WalkMe for creating interactive tutorials is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with SMEs and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.


  • Salary and Other Compensation :

    Applications will be accepted until 5/31/24.

    The annual salary for this position is between $84,000 - $135,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

    This position is also eligible for Cognizant's cost of living adjustment, discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
