Position Summary

Performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies. Incumbents perform many of the same duties as the Materials Handler I, but are distinguished in that incumbents exercise decision making and independent judgement due to a broader knowledge of the materials handling operation and provide on the job training and problem solving to others. May be required to lift heavy objects. Work also involves the operation, closing and cleaning of facilities. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Retail Dining Manager or Food Operations Manager and is evaluated by observation and in terms of customer reaction.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Advanced knowledge of warehousing and inventory control. Computer literate.

Physical Demands

Heavy lifting up to 100 pounds required. Must be able to perform physical activity; move loads up to 100 lbs., unloading and stocking products; perform push/pull activity with products weighing up to 50 lbs.; perform duties with repetitive motion of wrists, arm, and shoulder, possess hand and finger coordination; be able to reach, climb, balance, crouch, twist, crawl, and kneel; and work in noisy, hot/cold environments with chemicals, cleaning equipment, dust, fumes, and odors.
Work long hours standing.
Work in various temperature conditions.
