Our client is seeking an experienced Music Content Operations Specialist to define and reliably execute distribution, rights management and artist support across our clients business. You will need to roll your sleeves up to get things done but also have a strategic, long term view to systematize and streamline everything they do. This role is a unique opportunity to help our clients efforts in an ever-evolving, critical area. You will work closely with artists, marketing and business teams to ensure releases are correctly are set up, and go live seamlessly. You will also be responsible for onboarding artists to our clients MCN, and for maintaining onboarded channels. The ideal candidate will have the right combination of entrepreneurial hustle, experience working with music content and a focus on detail to make things run smoothly.

Key Qualifications
  • 5+ years operations experience for a reputable label or distributor.
  • Experience working with artists or management companies to plan the logistics of key releases.
  • Passion for contemporary Pop, Soul/R&B, African and Hip-Hop genres.
  • Demonstrable experience of digital music distribution, including the systems and metadata required to support it.
  • Deep knowledge of Apple, Spotify and Youtube metadata specifications, and CMS'.
  • Youtube certified, with experience of uploading and tagging videos / channels for search optimization.
  • Apple Style Guide knowledge is a strong plus.
  • Be able to juggle projects and repetitive, detail-oriented work.
  • Experience designing processes, and comfort driving results through KPI's is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication skills. Including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely across multiple audiences and partners.
  • Results-oriented, upbeat and focused with a strong passion to learn and succeed.
  • Exhibit confidence in calling out issues and presenting to senior management on project status and schedules.
  • Skilled with Excel, Numbers, Tableau and/or similar analytical applications.

You will:
  • Collaborate with Music leads to onboard new artists to our client, including demo-ing services and platform features.
  • Approve, deliver, and ensure perfect go-live of releases at DSPs.
  • Optimize artist videos and channels for search on Youtube.
  • Advise music and marketing teams regarding release plans, lead-times and due dates.
  • Manage multi-faceted operations and metadata projects, past examples include Sync and Mechanicals.
  • Manage operational relationships with distribution partners.
  • Provide timely artist support that puts artists needs first.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (legal, tax, policy, support etc) to prepare new features for launch.
  • Strategize with the wider Product & Business team to build the best platform for Artists.
  • Oversee testing and bug reviews of new features on our clients platform.
  • Strive for continuous improvement, and boundary-pushing initiatives.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $55 to $58 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
