You will be responsible for:
- Practicing Occupational Therapy consistent with the American Occupational Therapy Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
- Respecting and understanding the patient's right to treatment and right to be involved in treatment decisions.
- Evaluating, testing, and administering therapy programs for each patient to improve function with activities of daily living, mobility, health and wellness and reduce pain and discomfort involving physical means, such as exercise, massage, heat, ice, water and electricity, as prescribed by the physician.
- Developing rehabilitation goals and objectives that are measurable, described in functional or behavioral terms, and including estimated or relevant time frames for achievement, considering the anticipated discharge. Completes all appropriate documentation to maximize financial remuneration.
- Educating patients, families, care givers and other direct patient care providers to assess, instruct, correct, and/or provide information about practice skills and techniques appropriate for all age groups.
- Confering with the person(s) most closely associated with the active management of the patient and keeps them informed of any additional patient needs, treatment notifications and/or progress.
What you will need:
- Bachelor's of Science or Master's of Science in Occupational Therapy
- Current Georgia licensure to practice as a Licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting, skilled nursing or outpatient is preferred.
