VMBS Is looking for an O.R.Surgical Technician in Crawford County Pa.
O.R. SURGICAL TECHNICIAN
Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm

SUMMARY
To provide technical assistance to the surgical team and maintain a knowledge of sterility and its function in the O.R. environment.

Prepare the operating room for upcoming surgeries.

Sterilize equipment and stock up any necessary supplies.

Prepare patients for their procedures.

Sterilize equipment and hand surgeons instruments upon request.

Order and take inventory of supplies and maintain files and records of procedures.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Must be a high school graduate. Medical background necessary.
Must be a graduate of an accredited surgical technician program.
Previous scrub experience preferred.
Communication skills necessary to effectively:
Provide instruction to staff, patient and/or significant other.
Provide explanation to staff, patient and/or significant other.
Communicates with other members of health team in a calm professional manner.
Computer usage.
Physical requirements for above: talking, telephone usage and hearing.
Ability to concentrate and prioritize, plan and perform professional care to resolve patient care problems and interact with patients, families, surgical staff and other team members.
Able to share with nursing team plans necessary to develop and implement a plan of care for the patient's well-being.
BLS required.
