Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct weekly huddles with team members to review performance metrics, identify training needs, and provide ongoing support and guidance.
  2. Assess and evaluate individual team members' performance and training requirements through daily interaction and coaching sessions.
  3. Ensure adherence to departmental processes, procedures, and compliance standards set by leadership and regulatory bodies.
  4. Stay informed about changes in billing guidelines, procedures, and laws pertaining to insurance carriers/payers, and assist team members in understanding and implementing these changes.
  5. Handle escalated collection follow-up on unpaid or denied claims with insurance carriers, ensuring timely resolution and maximum reimbursement.
  6. Research, track, and report insurance denial trends and barriers, proposing strategies for improvement in revenue management.
  7. Identify and address any issues with production, workflow, and training to optimize team performance and quality.
  8. Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement initiatives to enhance team productivity and quality standards.
  9. Update and draft training materials as needed, and provide backup support for training new employees during orientation.
  10. Handle escalated issues from team members via phone, email, or written correspondence, providing timely resolution and support.
  11. Provide weekly updates to leadership through written reports, highlighting team performance and areas for improvement.
  12. Meet performance goals established for the position, including efficiency, accuracy, quality, member satisfaction, and attendance.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager, contributing to the overall success of the medical collections department.

3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications
  • Out of network collections
  • 3-4+ years in collections (specific to out of network)
  • MS Office
  • Experience with NSA (No Surprise Act)
  • Experience working commercial payers
