Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).

Purpose:

PVCC Outreach & Admissions Coaches provide targeted, data-informed outreach to and recruitment of potential PVCC students in the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Greene, Fluvanna, Louisa, and Nelson. Coaches guide potential students from their initial expression of interest to a successful enrollment, ensuring all students who can benefit from post-secondary education and training have equitable access to PVCC. The foundation they provide allows for the continued success of students as they progress towards the completion of a degree, certificate, or workforce credential. These efforts of the PVCC Outreach & Admissions Coaches will be conducted on campus, in the community, and virtually, ensuring that all students can access the support and resources they need.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Help create and implement strategic outreach, enrollment, and recruitment plans for the college to ensure equitable access.
  • Work with PVCC personnel and community members to identify and recruit students, including those from historically marginalized and underserved communities.

  • Represent PVCC at college fairs, community events, information sessions, and other relevant activities.
  • Serve as a liaison between PVCC and various community organizations, educational institutions, employers, homeschool cooperatives, and other pertinent entities.
  • Work within the service region high schools to provide outreach to high school students and facilitate their transition to PVCC.
  • Cultivate relationships with prospective students by providing them with essential information about the college (orientation) and helping them make informed decisions about their academic and career pathways.
  • Assist prospective students in registering for recruitment events and/or tours, submitting their application, completing their application, and moving through pre-enrollment and enrollment phases.
  • Support new students throughout the admissions and onboarding processes, and ensure a smooth handoff to academic advisors, financial aid counselors, and other college support personnel.
  • Utilize a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) platform to support communication with prospective students, facilitate the completion of onboarding steps, and measure the effectiveness of outreach initiatives.
Benefits include:
  • Choice of health, dental, disability, and life insurance plans offered through the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Generous leave benefits
  • Tuition waiver program for studies at PVCC and opportunities for professional development and career advancement
Review of applications begins immediately.
