Worldwide Health and Safety (WHS) is hiring a Principal PM to lead the WHS Strategy team. WHS owns measuring, reporting and improving on the heath and safety of over 1.2 million operations employees across Amazon. The WHS strategy team works across Amazon to develop cohesive strategies and share executive reporting on our health and safety performance as a company. WHS is looking for a strategic thinker with strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent organizational ability to fill this position.

A strong candidate should have experience and interest in:

1.\tBeing a key leader in improving health and safety at Amazon.

2.\tLeading large, cross-functional planning and strategy workstreams.

3.\tThinking big about operational strategies and regularly presenting to VP and SVP level leaders. This leader will own multiple monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews with leadership covering strategic level topics.

4.\tImproving internal practices for sharing and visualizing data.

5.\tDriving execution to published plans across multiple business groups.

6.\tManaging planning calendars.

Responsibilities include developing 1-5 year plans for WHS, publishing strategic planning documents including OP plans, creating regular Steam and board level reporting, and partnering with operations, engineering, and tech teams to refine and prioritize healthy and safety within their strategic plans.

About the team:

The Workplace Health and Safety Strategy team builds and manages mechanisms for WHS to compile, create, and refine our strategies and strategic planning and reporting documents that represent WHS at the highest levels of leadership. We are the PM group that owns most WHS executive level documents and the PM wing for executive level data/reporting. We are a highly visible team and a trusted central point of contact for a large number of L8+ stakeholders globally.

The WHS Strategy team:

• \tOrganizes and compiles our strategic planning reports across the WHS stakeholder group and ensuring consistency in safety data and narrative across Amazon.

• \tInterfaces with field WHS teams, central WHS teams, and Operations groups that want to align on safety planning and content for their strategic plans as well.

• \tGathers and organizes inputs on safety from across our company and ensuring consistent approach across the entire WHS team.

• \tManages data lock dates and provides consistent data, validating data across deliverables.

• \tInsists on the highest standards by ensuring data and content continuity amongst leadership documents, dashboards, and safety communications.

• \tIs relentlessly curious to understand safety performance and provide insights to leadership and stakeholders.

• \tDives deep by regularly reviewing metrics and proactively seeking out new and improved data/mechanisms.

• \tOwns the continuous improvement to safety metric reporting and document development.

• \tInvents and simplifies to alleviate stakeholder and leadership pain points while improving reporting quality and accuracy.

• \tIs right a lot and thinks critically through problems to devise an action plan, and advise senior leaders with ease.

• \tEmphasizes the importance of concise and effective written communication.

• \tIs always data driven.

• \tOperates in a hybrid work environment working from the office a minimum of three days per week and may travel 10-20% of the time.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree

- 5+ years of cross functional project delivery experience

- 5+ years of program or project management experience

- 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

- Strong written/verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA

- Experience defining and executing program requirements

- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

- 3+ years' experience with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $111,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
