We are looking for a Principal TPM who will be responsible for defining and delivering programs with significant complexity and/or that have broad cross-organizational, global, or technology impact. Your work will focus on large engineering efforts that solve significantly complex or endemic problems. You will be trusted to operate with complete independence and are often assigned to focus on areas where the business and/or architectural strategy has not yet been defined. You effectively partner with all levels of leadership. You are adept at building consensus. You are able to represent, verbally and in writing, complex decisions, tough trade-offs, and potential solutions clearly to leaders to help them understand the decisions they have to make and what options they have. You influence organization priorities, system owners, business, and technology direction. You manage cross-functional communication to ensure all stakeholders are informed and needs aligned. You recognize when current programs are susceptible to prior technology failure patterns and actively steer teams to avoid repeating these failures. You know when a design or solution requires additional technical guidance (e.g., from senior engineers or subject matter experts). You show excellent judgment in driving executive-level escalations. You deliver solutions that meet Amazon high standards for customer satisfaction, efficiency, stability, extensibility, simplicity, and operational excellence

You will identify and influence the prioritization of innovative, scalable packaging solutions and packaging decision engines to more effectively meet the unique needs of customers in global marketplaces. You will have the opportunity to work closely and collaborate with software development managers, engineers, product managers, UX designers and business intelligence engineers to innovate, measure, analyze and refine the experiences we deliver to millions of customers across the planet on a daily basis

Sustainable Packaging team designs and drives the adoption of packaging technologies lower our cost structure, improving customer experience and, as part of the Climate Pledge, reduce our carbon footprint. You will lead the team that works upstream with vendors, sellers, Amazon Private Label and downstream across our outbound packaging suites to drive best in class packaging for efficient fulfillment and waste reduction.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
