Primary Purpose:
The Regional Assessment Coordinator empowers schools to execute the network's assessment philosophy, playing a critical role in linking high stakes testing requirements with on-the-ground execution. The RAC oversees the implementation of national, statewide, and local assessments that measure the academic outcomes of the network. Reporting directly to the Director of Assessment, the RAC collaborates with school leadership teams, CMO teams (especially Curriculum & Instruction, Special Populations, & English Learner Programming teams), and external partners to measure performance and help all stakeholders internalize state accountability. The RAC also advises a small cohort of Campus Testing Coordinators, who manage the day-to-day operations of assessment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Cultivate Leadership Skills: Foster collaboration among key stakeholders regarding assessment philosophy and scheduling, including Curriculum & Instruction, Special Populations, English Learner Programming, and Schools management teams; lead regular professional development sessions and conduct periodic check-in meetings.
• Train and Advise Campus Testing Coordinators: Collaborate closely with CTCs to establish strong working relationships; provide guidance on best practices for assessment scheduling and implementation; ensure CTCs are equipped to uphold strict adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards at the campus level.
• Network Compliance: At the direction of the Director of Assessment, collaborate with other Regional Assessment Coordinators to ensure consistent assessment practices across the network. Ensure strict adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards.
• Technical Expertise: Fully internalize policies for all assigned assessments; understand how state law and local policy interact; support schools to adapt their practices as policy changes. Thoroughly read and understand the District/Campus Testing Coordinator Manuals from the State and National entities, attend training, and stay up-to-date with any changes or updates.
• Coordinate Testing Procedures with Campus Staff: Collaborate with various campus and CMO staff members to establish clear testing and coding requirements for students from diverse backgrounds, including English Learners and scholars with IEPs.
• Maintain Test Security and Confidentiality: Under the direction of the Director of Assessment, maintain secure testing environments by safeguarding the security and confidentiality of assessments throughout the testing process, adhering to relevant guidelines and regulations
• Manage Test Material Orders and Receipts: Collaborate with Campus Testing Coordinators to verify the accurate ordering of test materials for the school. Confirm receipt of shipments and cross-check material order counts to ensure accuracy.
• Monitor Timely Shipment of Test Materials: Regularly track and verify completed test materials for shipment, ensuring that all materials are dispatched on time to the designated testing locations.
• Ensure Technology Readiness: Collaborate with Campus Testing Coordinators to ensure all technology requirements are met well before testing windows, avoiding potential technological hindrances during testing.
• Identify and Address Test Administration Discrepancies: Identify any discrepancies in test administration and promptly escalate them to the appropriate authorities, including the Texas Education Agency.
• Record Keeping and Accessibility: Verify that Campus Testing Coordinators maintain all testing records in an organized manner and ensure they are easily accessible when needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Physical Demands: Extended periods will be spent working at a desk and using a computer screen using their wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Additionally, there will be occasional requirements to stand, walk, climb, or balance. Occasionally, the employee may need to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment: The work environment is interactive- frequent interruptions and extended computer use. Occasional District-wide and State-wide travel.
Starting Salary: $60,000

Education, Experience, and/or Certification(s)
- Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree (B.A./ B.S.) from four-year college or university required.
- Special Skills/Certifications: Texas Education Certification preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication: The individual should be able to express themselves clearly in written and verbal forms.
- Bilingual Skills: Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Technology: Word, Excel for spreadsheet management and data analysis, PowerPoint for creating presentations, and Outlook for email and calendar management.
