Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in product management, consulting, co-founder or related technical role.
  • 3 years of experience building and shipping technical products.
  • Experience developing or launching infrastructure products or technologies within networking, storage, compute hardware, databases, file systems, data analytics, cluster management, and other software infrastructure areas.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience bringing innovative tech products to market.
  • Experience in compute architecture, data center infrastructure, CPU and I/O technologies, Cloud Infrastructure, Storage.
  • Experience with key enterprise workloads such as MSSQL, SAP, or HANA.
  • Knowledge of the operational aspects of Cloud Servers.
  • Knowledge of different workload requirements and their demands on the underlying infrastructure.

As a Product Manager in the Virtual Machine Workload-Specialized Families/Instances team, you will be responsible to innovate at the hardware infrastructure, virtual machine (VM), supply chain, and operations layers to develop strategies and deliver new Compute Engine products/services.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive new VM instance types in Compute Engine, intercepting new technologies, roadmap planning, business growth forecasting, ecosystem, and customer adoption.
  • Manage the product strategy for VM Instance types, their associated business outcomes, and presenting to key GCP leadership.
  • Drive new capabilities in the foundational Compute Infrastructure layer (e.g., Hypervisor and Virtualization Stack), Data Center systems, and deliver innovation for Google Cloud.
  • Work across hardware, software, supply chain, operations, research, and other product teams towards long-term product goals.
