POSITION OVERVIEW : 

Client is seeking a Senior Salesforce DevOps Engineer to join their technology team.

This position will be responsible for the source code control, CI/CD, testing, monitoring and automation of Salesforce deployments using Jenkins.

The successful candidate will have functional and technical expertise in the configuration, customization and deployment of features using Salesforce Service Cloud including UI/UX and data integrations.

The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Salesforce development, testing and deployment, as well as expertise in DevOps practices, cybersecurity and automation.

This position will provide technical leadership for DevOps process end to end in collaboration with product managers, Scrum Master, IT, Management, and other engineers.

The candidate must be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders, and drive efforts to completion with minimal direction.

Essential Responsibilities:

Automate deployment and configuration management setting-up the CD/CI pipeline and environment from scratch, using Jenkins, GitLab and related tools.

Master in Git– at the CLI level.

Having a daily impact overseeing the DevOps release process and assisting our developers throughout their release process.

Implement DevOps best practices such as version control, continuous integration, testing automation, and deployment automation.

Collaborate with the development team to ensure that code is developed in accordance with best practices and coding standards. Ensure safe and secure environments for development, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, and deployment.

Ensure the security and compliance of the Salesforce platform and other systems by implementing necessary cybersecurity measures.

Maintain the Salesforce platform by troubleshooting issues, improving performance, and ensuring data integrity.

Deeply understanding Client release process, thinking strategically about continuous improvement and automation that enables developers to release efficiently and on-time. Ensuring code delivery through the development lifecycle is simple, seamless, and consistent, and providing long-term resolutions and an overall roadmap for the completion of this process.

Developing, maintaining, and advancing CI/CD pipeline.

Define, groom and sequence epics and stories in collaboration with product manager and team.

Maintain GIT repositories and documentation of DevOps/release documentation related to build and deployment.

Develop, test, and deploy Salesforce applications, features and customizations using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning, JavaScript and other tools.

Provide feedback from code reviews and enforce changes to meet standards; conduct code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures.

Support and track Go-Live activities to ensure a successful release, post deployment activities, including knowledge transfer, process documentation and application bug fixes.

Acting as a single point of contact to plan, coordinate, and oversee our releases, patches, and emergency change requests.

Join Production support calls on a needed basis and support as needed.

Be available On-call support to release the emergency changes to production.

Review tasks critically and ensure they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery

Communicate processes and results with all parties involved in the product team, including engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors and customers. Maintain process documentation.

Anticipate and communicate blockers and delays before they require escalation.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Minimum 5-10 years of IT experience.

At least 5+ years working with Salesforce deployments and DevOps/release management, with an understanding of CI/CD processes, integration concepts in an enterprise IT software development environment.

Expertise in DevOps practices such as version control, continuous integration, testing automation, and deployment automation and orchestration utilizing Jenkins and related tools like Gitlab, etc.

Experience of Coordinate Branching and Merging strategies with development

Experience in Sandbox refresh.

Solid experience with Apex, Visualforce, Lightning, JavaScript and other Salesforce tools.

Experience with agile development methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.

Fluency with scripting and tooling with one or more of the following:

PowerShell and/or Bash Scripting

Salesforce DX

Salesforce CLI

Salesforce Apex

Salesforce LWC

Experience troubleshooting errors associated with package deployments, scratch org creation, and Salesforce DX CLI

Preferred Skills/Experience

Salesforce certifications like Salesforce Platform Developer I or II.

Experience with Service cloud, Sales Cloud, and Community Cloud.

Advanced understanding of the Salesforce.com data model and how and when to create custom objects, junction objects, and other model items

Hands-on experience with Salesforce managed package deployments into external orgs including creation and use of deployment automation tools and scripts

Creation of one-click deployments of Salesforce managed packages

Ability to focus on the bigger picture, identify and prioritize with the aim to consider more than one domain in this analysis

Ability to understand a feature’s purpose, the users impacted, and the flows impacted

Ability to be effective working in a complex team environment as well as independently

Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
