Who We Are:

Fuels and Energy Development Section works in pilot plant services and process development of new first of their kind processes.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Provide buildup, maintenance, and operations support for pilot plants for petroleum and chemical processes to collect data and advance our clients process development and scale-up.
  • Support pilot plant operations on 24/7 shifts.
  • Experience with tools, tubing, piping, pumps, and instrumentation will be used to support pilot plant buildup, maintenance and operations.
  • Maintain department chemical and equipment inventories and efficient organized workspaces.
  • Continuously improve staff and safety training and will maintain excellent documentation to meet all ISO9001 requirements.


Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Shiftwork will require shift change documentation, job safety analysis for task work orders, record keeping, operating pilot plant using distributed control systems.
  • Loading and unloading catalyst, heater repair and removal installation, insulation work, loading/unloading solid and liquid feedstocks and products to from drums and other containers, full face cartridge respirator usage, equipment inventory labelling and organization.
  • Chemical inventory labelling and organization, waste disposal, perform safety review (job safety analysis), reading and interpreting P&IDs, participate in HAZOPS and PHAs.
  • Attend to shifts to not disrupt workflow.
  • Procedure review and modifications.


Requirements:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Shift work required.
  • 2-10 years: Buildup, operations and maintenance of chemical or petroleum based processes that utilize piping, tubing, and instrumentation.
  • 2-10 years: Operating a process using a process control system. Understanding P&IDs, pressures, temperatures, and process flows.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.


Special Requirements:

Must be a U.S. person (i.e., U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) due to ITAR work in section.
