The Supply Chain Manager is an integral operations partner providing leadership to help improve customer service levels (On time delivery) and working capital (Inventory Turns). This role is responsible for driving business solutions and practices utilizing IDEX's standard Order-to-Cash framework to develop a demand driven Supply Chain approach. The Supply Chain Manager will organize and implement strategic initiatives and standardized approaches in order management, demand planning/management, procurement, materials/inventory management and logistics. This position will be leading production planning/scheduling and tactical purchasing. The Supply Chain Manager will also be responsible for leading Hale business processes that cut across full order-to-cash framework including Sales, Inventory, Operations & Planning (SIOP). Success for this role is defined by leading a supply chain team that supports the order to cash framework. This will be measured by ongoing improvement of delivery, ongoing improvement in working capital, and the development of his/her team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • In conjunction with corporate processes and tools, deploy demand driven supply chain strategy that supports operational excellence and long-range plans.
  • Ensure supply chain is synchronized to produce maximum efficiencies and lowest cost of operation.
  • Work closely with operations leaders and their teams to achieve operational objectives in cost, quality, delivery, and inventory turnover.
  • Develop and challenge resources to improve performance through systems utilization and process improvements.
  • Lead and improve Demand Planning focusing on date management within the supply chain and providing feedback on date management to upstream departments.
  • Provide support to Strategic Sourcing team in cost reduction projects, specifically focusing on process and supplier change management.
  • Lead and improve Material/Inventory Management best practices including Plan for Every Part (PFEP), 80/20 analysis and focus, Purchasing Methods (PO, Blanket), Warehouse Management (Cycle Count and Transaction accuracy, Transactions) and replenishment Methods (MRP, kanban, and VMI).
  • Leads initiative to ensure continuity of supply throughout the operations to achieve uninterrupted supply of quality components and assemblies.
  • Responsible for data which drives scorecard for Hale suppliers in the key categories of quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement plans or Corrective Actions as needed.
  • Champions standard IDEX Supply Chain/Procurement Tools and methodologies and is a recognized subject matter expert (SME) providing training and certification.
  • Coaches and mentors Supply Chain team to improve engagement with Hale technical and commercial stakeholders and maintains communication channels between the cross functional teams.
  • Provides and facilitates interaction between team members, teams and other areas. Resolves differences and/or conflicts effectively.
  • Has a solid understanding of the Hale business. Evaluates situations objectively and demonstrates the ability to make decisions that are intended to have a positive impact on work performance or area and the total business.
  • Helps to define appropriate goals & metrics.
  • Demonstrates personal flexibility in approach and ideas and responds positively and supports changes in procedures, process, technology, responsibility, and assignments.
  • Organizes and prioritizes work assignment to complete assignments/tasks on time, with quality, and has the ability to anticipate problem areas in advance. Applies creative approaches and ideas to solve problems for area of responsibility.
  • Is accountable for defining resource needs and works within budget and staffing parameters to accomplish objectives for area of responsibility.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Strong verbal and written communication competencies.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of B.S. or equivalent in Supply Chain/Sourcing or a relevant engineering, scientific or business discipline. Advanced degree, MS and/or MBA, is preferred.
  • Experience in Operations, Supply Chain and Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience with multi-step strategic sourcing processes and category management strategies preferred.
  • APICS or equivalent certification desired.
  • Basic knowledge of ERP/MRP systems - JDE Preferred.
  • A solid track record for performance in operations, business, supply chain & procurement.
