A reputable CPA firm that specializes in public accounting is seeking a Tax Manager to join them in a hybrid position based out of Kirkland, WA! They are looking for an experienced CPA with at least 10 years of senior-level tax experience to handle complex individual and corporate tax returns, especially involving trusts and estates. Salary Range: $125, 000 - $165, 000 / year DOE

Tax Manager Requirements:
  • CPA certification required (EA and JD are a plus)
  • 10+ years of experience in public accounting at a senior level, including preparing federal and state tax returns for businesses and individuals
  • Must have supervisory experience
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and macros
  • Familiarity with State and Local Tax (SALT) and multistate tax regulations
  • Experience in trust and estate work preferred
  • Knowledge of international tax is a plus
  • Diverse experience in tax returns and bookkeeping/accounting, including full cycle accounting and journal entries
  • Reviewing experience highly preferred

Tax Manager Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and oversee the work of three staff members
  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for businesses and individuals
  • Handle complex individual and corporate tax returns, trusts, and estates
  • Provide expertise in individual, partnership, S corporation, and C corporation concepts
  • Analyze and plan for complex transactions such as buy/sell agreements and mergers
  • Collaborate with clients, attorneys, and financial advisors, bringing strong expertise
  • Lead training sessions in the office and mentor staff
  • Serve as a resource for questions on highly complex tax returns and issues
  • Work directly with clients to provide excellent service and advice
  • Take on a portfolio of around 200 clients
