TELEWORK

This position offers an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule with a minimum 4-day work in office at our Houston location.

This position is a member of our Coastal & East Texas Division.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a part of the division's Coastal & East Texas team, our Administrative Assistant V will play a key role in achieving TCEQ's mission. You would use your skills and experience to:

  • Coordinate regional HR functions with Human Resources and Staff Services Division; interpret and communicate administrative policies and maintain personnel-related documents and database. Coordinate information with division management and budget personnel
  • Prepare and submit administrative documentation for job postings and personnel actions (PAs) within the Houston office. Submit related information into appropriate systems and assists other offices with posting and PA related activities.
  • Provide limited hiring process support to Houston office management staff including secondary screening of job applications, scribing for interviews, and participation in local area recruitment events
  • Plan and perform new hire and termination process and documentation
  • Oversee the preparation of periodic and/or special correspondence and reports; research and coordinate special projects and assignments.




Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from a standard senior high school or its equivalent plus five years of full-time experience providing administrative support in an office setting.

Fifteen semester hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each six months of the required experience with a maximum substitution of four years.

OR

Two years as an Administrative Assistant IV at TCEQ.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience performing staffing functions related to recruitment, processing new and separating employees, posting job announcements, etc
  • Experience maintaining employee data, directories and/or organizational listings using cloud applications
