Insurance Specialist II

This position performs review and processing of agent licensing applications and forms. Position requires critical thinking when reviewing and analyzing agent licensing applications to determine eligibility for licensure by applying policies, rules, and statutes. Will work under production environment with specific goals and receive moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

This position:

• Process license applications: review to determine compliance with applicable policies, rules and statutes and maintain filings according to applicable policies and procedures.

• Effectively communicate to team members and other TDI staff. Provide clear communication to applicants, through email and phone calls, the status of their submitted application and provide instruction on resolving missing information.

• Data entry of license applications and license update forms into the database.

• Cross-trains and assists other teams as needed.

• Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

This position requires:

• 60 college hours

• One year experience in insurance work.

• Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.

Additional job details:

This position requires regular work attendance. The position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. If eligible, the employee must have a secure, dedicated workspace with reliable broadband internet service. The ideal candidate must be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours.

Preferences for this position include:

General knowledge of Agent and Adjuster Licensing's processes and procedures.

This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:

• PC software, general office procedures.

• Accurately entering data into database systems.

• Critical thinking - problem solving, decision making, analyze data.

This position requires demonstrated skill in:

• Problem solving and critical thinking.

• Using Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.

• Using personal computers sufficient to enter and extract data from related systems and programs, such as Centralized Accounting Payroll and Personnel (CAPPS) and other systems required to perform the job.

• Filing accurately and rapidly.

This position requires the demonstrated ability to:

• Communicate and work effectively with a wide range of people with varied skills, knowledge, and backgrounds.

• Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Analyze and solve work-related problems and work independently on a variety of administrative work and technical assignments.

• Manage workload and priorities to meet necessary deadlines.

• Work both independently and as a team player.

• Determine compliance with regulatory rules and statutes.

• Read and comprehend forms.

• Draft clear and concise letters.

• Use standard office equipment and software.

• Represent the agency to licensees, consumers, insurance representatives, legislators, and others in a professional and courteous manner.

• Concentrate on tedious and repetitive work.

• Establish effective working relationships with coworkers.
