As the university safety operations manager, you will oversee contract security personnel and provide support with regards to the university's global security program and abroad locations. You will provide the university leadership and direction in all areas of security, loss control, best practices, and security programs including strategic planning and location-wide collaboration. In this role you will collaborate with administration, department, and external groups to effectively resolve security related issues. You will work to establish short- and long-range organizational goals, plans, and objectives, monitoring them for effectiveness and changes required for improvement. Responsibilities include training and monitoring specialists, running the security operations center, and monitoring security conditions and analyzing data to advise the administration on appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

In the role of operations manager, you will develop and implement a security training strategy for the university community and ensure that appropriate steps are taken to ensure compliance. You will provide frequent communications to the administration, oversee and provide direction for major security related projects and physical security technologies, and interpret security laws, regulations, and contract agreements.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Management experience in a public safety or security field
  • At least three years of management experience in the public safety, military, or security industry

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
  • Valid Georgia or South Carolina driver's license
  • Valis U.S. passport or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment

Travel Required:
  • Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
