Position Objective

This role supervises all warehouse activities including receiving, shipping and material control to ensure safety, quality, productivity, administration with the intent of continuous improvement and leading results to achieve department and plant goals. Position involves the overall management of night warehouse staff, including but not limited to loaders forklift operators and team members.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Accountable for ensuring that all team members receive required instruction in safety procedures, proper use of equipment, performance standards, disciplinary processes, other workplace and Company policies, procedures and practices. Ensure compliance to OSHA / EPA regulations and Company Safety Guidelines. Must be knowledgeable of Hazardous Waste Handling. Must adhere to Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) requirements.
  • You will leverage your team's experience and skills to support supply chain and receiving inspection services, inventory control, critical parts availability, material handling, import-export licensing, shipment of products and third-party warehousing.
  • Responsible for completing regular Cycle count and completion of physical inventory; able to maintain FIFO procedures for time sensitive materials. Housekeeping and other 5S activities.
  • Communicates with various levels of management and customers to ensure that customer expectations are met and issues are resolved, including turn-around time. Proactively working with cross functional teams, internally and externally, to ensure that the company meet or exceeds the expectations of our customers. Investigates service failures, and develops, implements and monitors appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Manage company freight audit and payment process. Leverage 3 rd party Freight Bill Audit & Payment to manage timely, accurate freight payment and provide logistics spend transparency. Extensive experience managing domestic and international freight with multiple modes (parcel, air, ground, ocean, multi-modal) preferably including out of gauge, military, and dangerous goods shipments. Provide guidance on import/export Freight Classification, Harmonization Coding, NAFTA certificates of origin and C-TPAT management compliance. Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements.
  • Reviews, recommends and develops changes in operations, processes and system. Ensures proper implementation and maintenance of approved changes. Provide continual process improvements as well as implementation of new processes.
  • Strategically manage operations within the warehouse in compliance with company's policies and vision, ensuring quality standards are consistently met. Optimizing warehouse for efficient handling of stored materials.
  • Staff, train, evaluate, motivate and develop team members. Strong verbal, interpersonal communication and leadership skills. Ability to coordinate people and product to ensure orders are filled accurately.
  • Ensure a high degree of inventory accuracy in ERP system (Oracle). Computer proficiency skills required.
  • Support daily management activities, including developing and reporting on metrics. Problem resolution, assignment of action items, and defining target dates for completion of assignments.
  • Add to Cycle Counting, Location Auditing , and annual physical inventory.
  • Drive RCCA activities to drive continuous improvement, address problem resolution.


Minimum Requirements
  • BA degree and or 4 years of management experience and shifts in a warehouse environment, high volume distribution preferred.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations including security procedures, improve loss-control programs, refining process control.
  • Ability to calculate, analyze and apply business, financial and statistical analysis.
  • Flexible to work off-shifts, as required.
  • Computer proficiency, proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite and Oracle
  • Must understand production. Manage reports, measurement of KPI's and statistical analysis.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.


Preferred:
  • Industry experience in Aerospace and Defense desirable.
  • Thorough grounding in transportation procurement strategies, including experience in parcel, air, truckload, less than truckload and ocean pricing and bid evaluation.
  • Solid grounding in international trade requirements and best practices. Knowledge of ITAR, EAR and export control regulations.
  • Experience in steering and implementing strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix structure.
  • Knowledge of DOT, IATA and IMDG
  • Prior experience in working directly with the DCMA Transportation group.
