The Center for Diagnostics and Therapeutics (CDT) at Georgia State University, is seeking to hire an experienced Administrative Specialist (Temp). The Administrative Specialist (Temp) will assist the Director of CDT and Faculty with special projects. This position maintains the calendars and serves as a point of contact to support activities on behalf of the Center Director, Associate Director, Faculty, and related senior personnel of the university.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

The Administrative Specialist (Temp) will assist the Director of CDT and Faculty with special projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Monitor expenses, process expense vouchers; process travel authorizations and reimbursements; monitor budgets for CDT and ATIF.
  • Assist director and/or other personnel in the maintenance of faculty records, annual reports; coordinate personnel functions such as hiring, evaluation, payroll, travel, and reimbursements.
  • Be a contact point for CDT fellows and coordinate activities.
  • Assist the director and other personnel in maintaining reports, coordinating reports, and grant applications, process various forms.
  • Work with CDT fellows and coordinate their meetings, annual reviews, and related center activities.
  • Schedule internal and external meetings; arrange travels, conference registrations, and hotel reservations for directors and guest speakers.
  • Reserve and prepare conference rooms and lecture halls; design flyers and posters for CDT and ATIF seminars; plan, schedule, and coordinate special events.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and two years administrative experience; or high school diploma or GED and six years administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Knowledge of various software and information systems, such as MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
  • Knowledge of University rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, develop and analyze work procedures.
