Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Ph.D. degree in statistics or related field; or a Master's degree plus skills and experience related to this class of work.

Position Summary

This position will be responsible for providing technical expertise, data analysis and interpretation, and advice to faculty, staff, and students on experimental design, data analyses, interpretation, project management, and results summarization. The incoming faculty member will be required to work closely with existing personnel, review reports and research manuscripts for validity, adopt new statistical procedures as they become available. Formal instruction in statistical methods.

Additional Requirements

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Ph.D. degree in statistics or related field.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

The successful applicant will demonstrate competency with advanced experimental designs, sampling, and statistical analysis procedures appropriate for hypothesis driven research and extension programs. Ability to interpret results and make appropriate inferences is critical. Knowledge of agriculture, natural resources or environmental sciences is desirable. Required skills include the ability to determine and apply appropriate experimental design/statistical analysis combinations; ability to manage research data in popular spreadsheet and database formats; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; and ability to implement and teach statistical concepts to faculty, staff and students. Candidates should be proficient with SAS and/or R software. Expertise with applied statistics using biological responses is highly desirable. Knowledge of bioinformatics or geospatial statistics and their application and analyses is advantageous.
