Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Environmental Scientist 2, we'll count on you to

• Collect project-related data, which may include the following: research for water quality related issues, surveys for listed species, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, field investigations for wetlands, land use, etc.
• Assimilate and manage data.
• Prepare constraints mapping.
• Define the level of environmental analysis required.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments.
• Perform complex assignments, making independent decisions on problems and methods.
• Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings.
• Perform presentation to regulatory agencies.
• Assist public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition and compliance.
• Write Water Quality Studies
• Write Natural Environment Studies or Aquatic Resources Delineation Reports
• Work independently on medium-size projects or assist more-senior scientists on larger projects.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science or closely related field
• 5 years technical and/or field experience preparing environmental documents.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel)
• Proficient with GIS
• Strong environmental writing and communication skills
• Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically, Outlook, Word and Excel, and SharePoint or equivalent database

The expected compensation range for this position is $82,863.00 - $118,375.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
