As a Firmware Automation Engineer at a global energy company, you will play a pivotal role in the development and testing of firmware for our advanced electricity meters. You will be responsible for automating manual test cases for various components such as the Collector, EIC, and Electric EPs, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python or bash in the Robot Framework to streamline the testing process.
* Design, implement, and execute automated tests to validate the functionality of firmware components.
* Collaborate with the development team to understand manual test cases and convert them into automated scripts.
* Troubleshoot and debug firmware issues, providing detailed reports and recommendations for improvements.
* Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks to accommodate new test scenarios and hardware platforms.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of firmware with hardware and software components.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices.

Required Skills & Experience
* Proficient in scripting with Python or bash.
* Experience with wireless and mesh networking protocols.
* Solid experience with Robot Framework for test automation.
* Strong programming skills in C/C++.
* Hands-on experience with Linux and Linux networking protocols.
* Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience with electrical metering technology or similar embedded systems.
Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices.
