The Global Strategic Sourcing Machining Commodity is seeking an experienced, energetic, proactive Project Engineer. This individual will be responsible for puling and interpretation machined parts drawings spanning across all 6 Collins strategic business units (SBU).

This individual can sit at any Collins domestic location or remote.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for assisting in the development and execution of all Engineering and Quality requirements found in the transition process.
  • These requirements include but are not limited to coordinating current article inspections, developing engineering testing plans and assisting in determining suppliers capabilities.
  • Responsible for effectively collaborating in a cross-function, highly matrixed environment in order to advance the multiple projects within their scope.
  • Partners with SBU counterparts but also work closely with suppliers to ensure they qualify new work in a timely and compliant manner.


Basic Qualifications:
  • This position requires a Bachelors degree in the appropriate discipline and 8 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be willing and able to travel 20% of the time
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident Green Card holder
  • Data management skills are required including knowledge of Excel (V-lookups, pivot tables, etc) and Power Point


Preferred Qualifications:
  • A MBA degree
  • 7+ years experience in a technical supply chain role in the Aerospace Industry is desired
  • Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management and/or Operations experience
  • Experience with SAP and ARIBA
  • Knowledge of export/ITC regulations and policies is preferred as well over a basic knowledge of RTX work transfer standard work (COL 0008)
  • PMP Certification
