Commercial Real Estate Associate Portfolio Manager

Reviews, analyzes and evaluates risks in order to renew existing business or support existing accounts. Determines appropriate terms and conditions for coverages and rates for program profitability. Contributes to the profitable growth of specific program(s) by maintaining pricing integrity, product excellence, and the development of meaningful performance metrics and controls.
Analyzes quality and quantity of risks underwritten and prepares reports accordingly. May review books of business as well as profit/growth results and trends to recommend and implement action plans.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Handles day-to-day management of model portfolios, which includes portfolio construction, analyzing model characteristics, and resolving associated issues.
Develops, monitors and communicates performance, risk, positioning, and rebalance metrics to ensure alignment with the Portfolio Managers investment thesis and process.
Performs investment analysis projects in conjunction with the Portfolio Managers and research staff to continuously refine and improve the investment methodology and associated policies.
Monitors re-allocations and operational processes by working closely with portfolio services, data strategy & management, product development, and distribution.
Develops hypothetical portfolios and ad-hoc analysis.
Runs periodic and ad hoc updates to portfolio construction and attribution models, analyzing sensitivities and risks to key assumptions, and presenting this information to the team.
Monitors portfolio positioning relative to market developments and building tools needed to do so systematically and efficiently.
Contributes to portfolio management discussions as and when needed, including providing clear analysis and presentation of relevant information both in writing and orally.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or other equivalent field.
Work Experience:
Experience with credit structuring, underwriting and cross selling.
Skills and Abilities:
Organized and self-sufficient.
Strong quantitative reasoning and writing skills.
Knowledge of underwriting and experience with all underwriting procedures.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, members, and general public.
Detail oriented, common sense decision-making; above average oral, written and communications skills.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as profitability and statistical inference.
Ability to apply concepts, such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions, to practical situations
Capacity to complete the project on time.
