Full-time Faculty Positions

Full-time faculty positions will be posted on a per-opening basis. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Part-time Faculty Positions

DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in a variety of disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding. Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit. All individuals in the pool will be notified by email when the posting is closed.

Responsibilities:

The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for two 10-month non-tenure track faculty positions to begin July 1, 2024, with teaching responsibilities commencing in the Fall of 2024. The area of applicant specialization within Biology is open.

We seek candidates with a demonstrated record of effectiveness or potential as an instructor for a variety of courses and a commitment to continued development as an educator. Successful candidates will be passionate about engaging with motivated students from diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities will include teaching courses and lab sections for science majors, non-science majors, and graduate students. The specific courses will depend on the area of applicant specialization. Providing mentoring for course-based student research and working with the Center for Teaching and Learning for continued professional development are also a possibility for motivated individuals.

The College of Science and Health is the third largest college at DePaul, enrolling over 3,000 students. The college includes programs in biology, chemistry and biochemistry, environmental science and studies, health sciences, mathematics, neuroscience, nursing, occupational therapy, physics and astrophysics, psychology, and speech language pathology. Required Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
  • A BS or BA degree in biology, or a closely related field
  • Either a Master's or PhD in biology, or a closely related field
  • Preference will be given to applicants with college-level teaching experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working with a diverse student groups
  • Experience teaching both in-person and online Biology courses
  • Experience mentoring students in teaching and/or research
