Team Overview
We aim to bring discovery, inspiration, and joy back to shopping by making TikTok the commerce channel of choice for merchants, creators, and partners. We are looking for passionate and talented people to join our commercial team in the US, to help build an e-commerce ecosystem that is innovative, secure, and intuitive for our users and partners alike. This role sits in our larger SMB team which supports social sellers, small and medium businesses, and emerging brands.

Role Overview
The TikTok Shop Home & Living SMB Category Team is looking for a retail champion to help us build our business and drive the growth of our category. The Home & Living SMB Category Lead will develop the go-to-market strategy, prioritize key initiatives, and build and lead a team of category managers. They will be responsible for identifying the needs of the business, partnering with cross-functional partners and allocating appropriate resources to drive sustained growth.

Responsibilities:
- Craft overall strategy to deliver growth for the business - define goals, identify opportunities and design approach
- Build and develop a strong team to drive growth and align with the business strategy
- Acquire and incubate pre-owned luxury brand principals, distributors and merchants to support category growth
- Bring a consultative approach that will align around Customer First methodology
- Identify innovative collaborative models that align with merchants' short-term and long-term development plans, and invest platform resources effectively and efficiently
- Solve key challenges in business growth through strong collaboration with cross-function teams
- Design the overall category growth strategy - define goals, identify opportunities, forecast the business and go-to-market
- Build and develop a strong team according to the category growth priorities and business rationale
- Help envision a world-class experience for pre-owned luxury brands and shoppers, and partner cross-functionally with multiple teams to make a great merchant and customer experience a reality
- Apply your strong commercial acumen to understand deeply how the TikTok platform and content- and creator-commerce work together with brands; develop your own insights into how the category can scale; and lead the team to act on those insights and accelerate the business
- Represent TikTok Shop at industry events and brand summits, and foster long-term partnerships with brands that help scale the category

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in e-commerce business; a mixed experience in both platform side and brand/merchant side is highly preferred
- 3+ years experience as a people manager, managing a significant team size
- Proven track record of continually reaching and exceeding sales goals - prior experience P&L ownership and planning is a plus
- Sales and business development skills, command of B2B and B2C funnel structures
- Experience recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and developing a strong sales team - passion for leading and developing people

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in content-based e-commerce
- Experience as a people manager, managing a significant team size
- Experience in pre-owned categories
- Strong connections with brands and distributors
- Experience managing people managers of varying experience
- Ability to foster C-Level executive relationships with a genuine interest in customers' success
- A proven penchant for creative problem-solving
